First Eet Kit is a platform that provides all the information for people who are treating or know someone with binge eating disorder or avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), anorexia nervosa, or bulimia nervosa. They provide first aid and support during the challenging and emotional process of recognizing, acknowledging, diagnosing, and treating an (early-stage) eating disorder.
A double circle is used to evoke the feeling of a non-linear process, emphasizing that there is no clear beginning or end to recovery. The experience of living with or supporting someone with an eating disorder is often described as a wild and unpredictable ride. The overlapping circles also represent connection and togetherness, highlighting that recovery often involves shared effort, mutual support and relational dynamics.
Through illustrations we visualize the eating disorder in an abstract way since it mainly takes place in the mind of the person experiencing it. By focusing only on heads we avoid showing bodies that could be suggestive or triggering. This approach helps us steer away from visual clichés or harmful body-related associations while still expressing complex inner struggles. The abstract quality allows for interpretation and invites viewers to connect emotionally without reinforcing physical ideals or expectations.
Raw and honest photography is used to reflect the reality and emotional depth of those affected. The imagery stays as gender-neutral as possible to avoid exclusion or misrepresentation. Personal stories from people with lived experience are central and shared in their own words. Together the photography and narratives form an authentic and inclusive language that helps people feel seen supported and understood.
These choices come together on the First Eet Kit website, where all visual elements are intentionally combined to create an environment that feels calm, inclusive and emotionally engaging. Abstract illustrations, double-circle compositions and photography without stereotypes contribute to a visual identity that reflects the complexity of recovery without idealization. The design avoids linear storytelling, instead offering a layered and honest experience that encourages recognition and emotional connection.
To deepen understanding, two educational tools are included. An animated video explains the internal dynamics of eating disorders in a clear and accessible way, making the invisible more tangible. In addition, an interactive tool outlines symptoms and consequences, allowing users to explore how different aspects of an eating disorder manifest and affect daily life. These tools provide clarity and insight for both those directly affected and the people around them.
